Meet Dr. Vumback
Dr. Matthew Vumback is a board-certified orthodontist and Connecticut native known for his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to clinical excellence, all while creating a calm, welcoming environment for his patients.
Education & Experience
Dr. Vumback’s academic journey began at Providence College in Rhode Island, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
He went on to Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, completing a Master of Science in Oral Health Sciences before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
During his time there, Dr. Vumback served as class president and graduated with the highest distinction, Summa Cum Laude.
Residency & Beyond
Driven by a passion for orthodontics, Dr. Vumback went on to complete his residency at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. His training encompassed a wide range of treatment modalities, including twin and self-ligating bracket systems as well as clear aligner therapy.
His program placed a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing him to work closely with general dentists and specialists across various dental and medical fields.
As part of his residency, Dr. Vumback also trained at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Cleft Lip and Palate Center, gaining valuable experience in complex craniofacial cases and comprehensive care planning.
Outside of the Office
Outside the office, Dr. Vumback enjoys spending quality time with his family and his goldendoodle, Zeke, especially along the beaches of Westerly, Rhode Island.
A beloved companion, Zeke, occasionally makes appearances at the office, bringing smiles to both patients and staff alike.
